Echo Park Lake

Echo Park Lake is an urban oasis complete with a forest of  swaying palm trees,  a fire engine-red bridge leading to an island, and a rich history dating back to 1895.  The lake  has been featured in countless photos and postcards and has served as a backdrop for movies (both silent and talkies) as well as television shows.  Echo Park is home to a large concentration of historic, cultural and architectural landmarks. Many have officially been recognized as cultural and historic monuments by city, state and federal agencies.  Echo Lake Park is located in the area bound by Glendale Boulevard, Echo Park Avenue and Park Avenue off the 101 and 1 block south of Sunset Boulevard.  Check the website for walking tour information.
